Critical Thinking

• People that will be in trouble; homeless, migrants, farmers
• Main consequences : businesses shut down, import-export at stake, economic activity suspended, environmental disaster
• New fields of profession will open up because of the drastic change in cityscape.
• There will be a demand for water suitable modes of transportation and overall sustainable vehicles.

• By restructuring modes of transportation and outdoor space, we also have to think who is directly involved and how we (as innovators) can engage important stakeholders ; i.e. suppliers, governmental groups etc.
• How this information is shared with the public ; how we reach out and raise awareness ; use of apps and social media

"What are the outcomes of the stakeholder map?"

"What are relevant things in your process till so far?"

"What kind of mobility/transportation fits within that scenario? 'Undress' that scenario and build from there towards a concept!"

• Amphibious vehicles; boats, waterbuses, ships, underwater tunnels, rafts, ferries
• Vehicles that work on both land and in water
• Shoes/clothes that can resistant water and land, can latch onto water skis?
• New waterproof / water resistant technologies for buildings and infrastructures.
• Reuse/re-design old parts from vehicles to adapt new weather conditions
• Modular transport system which couples an autonomous vehicle chassis with interchangeable body pods; delivery or taxi
• Waterproof equipment for electronics
• App that warns you of an eventual flooding.

What are possible scenario's of these people/parties in 2050?

• Students, teachers, researchers come together to gather data
• The ecosystem will undergo some changes. Outdoor recreational areas will be mostly water landscape/ water oriented.
• The flooded space can be made useful by assigning it as an agricultural space that grows floating crops and waterplants.
• More awareness towards the agricultural sector (?)
• A radical change in attitude towards nature and a more widespread understanding that human being are part of the ecosystem instead of the ecosystem facilitating us.
